The A_DAYS (Athens Digitized Art Displays) initiative brings culture to the heart of everyday life in Athens, transforming the city into an open-air exhibition space for cultural heritage. Through the extensive network of digital screens (DOOH) operated by Politis Group, iconic ancient and modern museum exhibits, as well as contemporary artworks, will be “brought to life” along major roads and busy commercial streets, offering a unique visual experience to both residents and visitors.

What does A_DAYS stand for?

The term A_DAYS centers around Athens and stands for Athens Digitized Art Displays, fully capturing the essence of the initiative:

  • DIGITIZED ART: Refers to unique ancient and modern monuments and artworks (such as paintings, sculptures, or historical pieces) that have been digitized or converted into digital formats in order to be displayed on DOOH screens or through digital media. It also refers to modern art specifically created or adapted for digital displays.
  • DISPLAYS: Highlights that these ancient and modern monuments and artworks are being showcased or exhibited in public or accessible spaces. These “exhibitions” take place on digital screens placed at bus stops or other digital advertising billboards across Athens.

Art and Technology in Collaboration

A_DAYS is a landmark collaboration with some of the country’s leading cultural institutions, including:

  • The Acropolis Museum
  • The Benaki Museum
  • The National Gallery

The goal of this initiative is to highlight Athens as a center of culture and innovation by taking art beyond traditional boundaries and dynamically integrating it into public space. Digitized reproductions of ancient and modern monuments, as well as artworks, will be displayed at 150 selected locations, allowing the public to engage with culture in a modern and accessible way. This initiative strengthens the connection between the public and art, offering a daily cultural stimulus in every corner of the city.

Politis Group’s Commitment to Public Information

The A_DAYS initiative is part of Politis Group’s broader strategy to utilize its digital out-of-home (DOOH) screens not only for advertising purposes but also as a powerful tool for public awareness and information. The company is committed to showcasing high-quality content related to social messages, emergency and civil protection announcements, and, of course, culture and art. In doing so, it enhances the public’s access to meaningful and everyday information across various sectors.

Politis Group President, Mr. Haris Politis, stated:

“The A_DAYS initiative is a tangible example of our commitment to supporting artistic expression and contributing to the development of a more dynamic medium for outdoor communication in our country. We strongly believe that our digital screens can serve as a bridge between art and the public, enriching the daily urban experience and highlighting the richness of Greek culture.”
