Following the success of its inaugural edition in August 2025, A_DAYS returns this year, continuing its mission of bringing culture into the urban landscape and transforming the everyday journeys of thousands of residents and visitors into unique cultural experiences.
What does A_DAYS stand for?
The term A_DAYS centers around Athens and stands for Athens Digitized Art Displays, fully capturing the essence of the initiative:
- DIGITIZED ART: Refers to unique ancient and modern monuments and artworks (such as paintings, sculptures, or historical pieces) that have been digitized or converted into digital formats in order to be displayed on DOOH screens or through digital media. It also refers to modern art specifically created or adapted for digital displays.
- DISPLAYS: Highlights that these ancient and modern monuments and artworks are being showcased or exhibited in public or accessible spaces. These “exhibitions” take place on digital screens placed at bus stops or other digital advertising billboards across Athens.
Participating Museums
This year’s edition features the participation of the following institutions (in alphabetical order):
- National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum
- Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation
- Museum of Cycladic Art
- Maria Callas Museum
- Benaki Museum
- Museum of Modern Greek Culture
The A_DAYS initiative showcases the potential of Digital Out-of-Home media as a contemporary platform for cultural communication, enhancing museums’ public outreach while expanding their audiences. Through the dynamic presentation of their collections, participating museums gain increased visibility, attract new visitors, and strengthen their connection with the public by harnessing the power of technology to bring culture into the spaces where city life unfolds every day.
Through the power of imagery and innovation, Athens once again becomes an open-air cultural canvas where cultural heritage, contemporary creativity, and digital technology coexist in the public realm. For Politis Group, DOOH panels represent far more than a modern advertising medium, they are also a powerful platform for cultural promotion, public information, and social awareness. By activating these spaces with meaningful cultural content, Politis Group contributes to creating a public environment that informs, inspires, and connects people with culture.
The A_DAYS initiative demonstrates that Digital Out-of-Home media can serve not only as communication channels but also as vehicles for cultural engagement, offering museums an innovative platform to showcase their collections while providing the public with a new and immersive way to experience art.
Once again, Athens proves that culture is not confined to museum galleries, archaeological sites, cultural centres, or exhibition spaces. It can live, move, and inspire throughout the city itself.
