Politis Group, a leading company in the Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising sector with 40 years of experience, announces a strategic partnership with Forgotten, an award-winning Creative Technology studio specializing in CGI and mixed reality content creation, known for producing Fake Out-of-Home (FOOH) videos.
This collaboration marks a new era for Out-of-Home advertising, blending the physical impact of traditional OOH with the limitless possibilities of the digital realm. Politis Group brings its extensive OOH network and expertise, while Forgotten handles the complete production of FOOH projects — from briefing and pre-visualization to filming, 3D visual effects, and final post-production.
Key benefits for advertisers include:
Extended Reach: FOOH shifts the advertising message from the physical to the digital space, enhancing brand awareness and recognition through stunning visuals.
Targeted Exposure: The combination of OOH and FOOH allows for flexible message adaptation to different audiences, increasing campaign effectiveness both offline and online.
High Engagement: Realistic FOOH creations capture attention on social media, boosting engagement and creating viral momentum.
Creative Freedom: Forgotten’s advanced technologies enable the realization of bold and innovative ideas that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive or technically unfeasible in the physical world.
Together, Politis Group and Forgotten bring a fresh creative perspective to outdoor advertising, offering innovative solutions that bridge the gap between physical and digital sector— where Out-of-Home meets Fake Out-of-Home.
In an era where sustainability is a key consideration across all sectors, advertising is no exception. Among the various forms of brand promotion now being evaluated through the lens of environmental responsibility, Out Of Home (OOH) advertising stands out as one of the most eco-friendly solutions.
1. Low Environmental Footprint OOH relies on long-lasting physical assets (billboards, bus shelters, digital panels). Unlike print or digital ads that often generate short-lived, disposable content, OOH surfaces are reused over time, significantly reducing material consumption.
2. Digital Technology Integration (DOOH) The shift to Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) enhances sustainability by eliminating the need for paper, PVC, or other consumables. It allows multiple messages on the same screen, uses energy-efficient LED technology, and often runs on renewable energy sources.
3. No Physical Waste for Consumers OOH doesn’t generate consumer waste like printed flyers or packaging materials.
4. Mass Reach with Minimal Energy OOH content reaches hundreds of people in public spaces simultaneously. This “one-to-many” model is more energy-efficient than digital media’s “one-to-one” targeting approach.
FAW’s Research: Data That Supports OOH Sustainability
In 2021, Germany’s official OOH association, FAW (Fachverband Außenwerbung e.V.), together with Mediaplus and ClimatePartner, conducted a pioneering study to measure CO₂ emissions per 1,000 advertising impressions across different media channels. This study introduced the “Green GRP” index, evaluating not only advertising reach but also environmental performance.
Results (CO₂ emissions per 1,000 impressions):
Newspapers (Nordic type): ~9,067 g
Linear TV: ~828 g
Online video (e.g., YouTube, VOD): ~284 g
(Digital) Out-of-Home / DOOH: ~5–80 g
DOOH showed the lowest CO₂ emissions per 1,000 contacts, making it one of the most eco-friendly advertising media available.
Return on Environment (ROE): Where Sustainability Meets Effectiveness
Based on these findings, FAW collaborated with the consulting firm bynd to develop a new index: Return on Environment (ROE). This indicator evaluates how reallocating media budget to low-emission channels impacts both sustainability and campaign performance.
Key findings from media plans (2019–2023):
Budget shift from TV/Online Video to DOOH led to up to 12% reduction in CO₂
Campaign effectiveness also improved (brand awareness, consideration, intention)
In a 2024 update analyzing 6 campaigns in the FMCG sector, reallocating budget to OOH/DOOH resulted in up to 29% CO₂ reduction with no negative impact on sales.
Why Does OOH Have Such Low Emissions?
FAW highlights three core reasons:
Mass visibility with a single display – high exposure per watt
Use of green energy, optimized logistics by OOH providers
Investment in low-consumption digital technology
Conclusion
Out-of-Home advertising – especially in its digital form – proves to be not only an effective communication channel but also a genuinely sustainable solution. In a world where environmental responsibility increasingly shapes business decisions, OOH demonstrates that advertising can be both impactful and environmentally responsible.
Politis Group, the leading force in Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising in Greece, proudly announces the largest strategic investment in the sector to date: the installation of 176 state-of-the-art digital screens along the most central road axes of Attica. This development forms the largest consecutive DOOH (Digital Out-of-Home) network in the world, reshaping the urban landscape of the Greek capital.
This initiative is part of Politis Group’s broader vision to digitally modernize public spaces by enhancing aesthetics, embracing technological innovation, and promoting socially responsible messaging. With this new investment, the company supports Athens’ transformation into a more functional and “smart” city, contributing to improved public information access and sustainable urban development.
The DOOH Bus Shelters offer:
Smoothly animated digital content display
Automatic brightness adjustment based on weather conditions (sunlight, cloudiness)
Multi-purpose functionality beyond advertising, including time, weather, wildfire alerts, traffic updates, emergency announcements, and other public service information
This cutting-edge infrastructure provides advertisers with an intelligent and high-performing promotional tool, strategically positioned for maximum visibility and repeated exposure. At the same time, the thoughtfully designed panels contribute to the overall aesthetic and quality of the urban environment.
The DOOH Bus Shelters are a key element of this investment, secured through 12-year agreements with municipalities, with an estimated unit cost of €38,000 and a projected return on investment over a 10-year horizon—underscoring its long-term nature. Moreover, Politis Group has already established partnerships with more than 60 municipalities across Greece, as part of a broader strategy to uniformly upgrade public OOH infrastructure nationwide.
“Outdoor advertising is evolving, and we are leading that transformation. With this investment, we are strengthening our network and offering our partners a modern, intelligent, and effective promotional environment,” said Mr. Haris Politis, President of Politis Group.
Politis Group actively supports the digital transformation of Athens and other cities, advancing innovation and technological development in Greece and across Europe.
With a strong sense of responsibility and social contribution, Politis Group actively participated in the World Road Safety Week (May 12–18, 2025) by dedicating all of its DOOH Panels to promote messages of awareness and responsibility related to road safety. This initiative took place as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Road Safety Institute (RSI) “Panos Mylonas.”
The anniversary week started with a special event that took place on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Zappeion Hall in Athens, in the presence of government officials, representatives of public institutions, organizations, and schools, all united by a shared vision of safer roads.
As part of its long-standing commitment to social responsibility, Politis Group embraced the initiative of RSI by broadcasting the road safety message throughout Athens. This action contributed significantly to raising public awareness around the prevention of traffic accidents and the promotion of responsible road behavior.
The World Road Safety Week is an important opportunity for education and action aimed at protecting human life on the roads. Politis Group proudly stands in support of this cause and will continue to endorse initiatives that contribute to a safer future for all.

With a focus on enhancing pedestrian safety and improving everyday life, Politis Group has completed the donation and installation of three autonomous crosswalk systems in the center of Chalandri. The new systems were placed at key intersections — Eptanissou & Ioannou Apostolopoulou and Kolokotroni & Gyftopoulou — improving accessibility and upgrading the overall experience for both residents and visitors of the area.
These state-of-the-art systems feature illuminated pedestrian crossing signs with backlighting and energy-autonomous solar panels. These elements ensure maximum visibility, even during nighttime or in poorly lit areas, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and enhancing safety for both pedestrians and drivers. With these new crosswalks, Chalandri’s commercial center becomes more pedestrian-friendly and supportive of soft mobility.
This initiative is part of Politis Group’s broader strategy to promote sustainable transportation and urban development. According to the Group’s President, Mr. Haris Politis, “The donation of autonomous crosswalk systems in Chalandri is a tangible step toward strengthening road safety and sustainability. We hope to contribute to the creation of a safer and more accessible urban environment for everyone, encouraging the active use of public spaces.”
The choice of Chalandri — a vibrant area with high commercial activity and significant pedestrian traffic — was made with the aim of protecting pedestrians, especially children, the elderly, and individuals with mobility challenges, ensuring safer crossings at busy points in the city.
Politis Group extends its warm thanks to the Municipality of Chalandri for their collaboration and remains committed to supporting initiatives that improve quality of life across Attica’s neighborhoods, promoting safety, accessibility, and sustainable development.
